I know very little about christianity.

Christianity was evolved from Judaism by Jesus. In Judaism, God is a untouchable Lord to man, and there is hierarchy in the business of the church. Jesus changed it by saying that everyone is a son or daughter of God, and there is no hierarchy in faith. It is essentially saying that everyone is equal in front of God, and God love us like his sons and daughters. All people are brother and sisters.

That means a lot, almost like a revolution. The old hierarchy and power of the church was under attack. So they terminated Jesus.

Why did Jesus do it? I think it is quite obvious now in the year of 2004, but it was quite confusing 2000 years ago. We all had gone through a path of despotism. We fully understand the magnitude of harm can be caused by a powerful despot or powerful bureaucracy to the human society. And it is true that a bureaucratic church did great harm to the human race many times before. So Jesus started something like a movement of democracy inside the Jews' church.

It is both true and good to realize that God love us. We are all son or daughter to Him, and we are all brother and sister to each other. Through Jesus, God condemned the wrong thing in faith.
