In the U.S.,when parents get older, medical insurance can be extremely high and take all kids' income to cover that if the parents don't have income. roughly it's about thousands per month per person after 70s for a good insurance plan.
surely you can drop this kind of insurance plan and rely on the public medicare plans. but first, it might be available for new immigrants.second, it might not be available if you are not poor. last, is it kind of opposite side of the immigration purpose, better life?
