US television network CNN made an embarrassing gaffe as its 'poll of polls' came up with some suspect mathematics.
During a live broadcast, the channel claimed No had 52 per cent of the vote - and Yes was set for a whopping 58 per cent share.
Unsurprisingly, the poll was mocked remorselessly online.
One Twitter user posted: "CNN posted a poll of polls... No 52%, Yes 58%. Scotland are giving it 110%."
The network later corrected the mistake in subsequent poll, to reflect the 52/48 per cent split it recorded in favour of the No campaign.
