这首英文歌非常凄美,是一个新寡女子的内心独白。
我有一个父亲新丧,又失去男友不久的女性朋友非常喜欢它。
每次听这首歌，都会很心疼。让我想起了大一选修音乐课时听到的歌德做词的 《魔王》。在那个故事里，描写一位父亲带着重病的孩子正在荒野里骑马狂奔，孩子说：“爸爸，我怕，我怕”，父亲说：“别怕，孩子，马上就要到了”；孩子说：“爸爸，我怕我怕，我看见一个黑色的魔王”，爸爸说，“别怕，孩子，那只是你的幻觉，你不会有事的。”终于到了家，爸爸如释重负，低头看怀里的孩子，已经死去了。
斯人已去。这种痛苦远非言语所能安慰。

这样会更有艺术性吧.想想，本来是期待着他长成个真正的男人,却半途夭折了.述说者内心的情感更复杂微妙一些了.
可是看下文却是14，15，16地叙述，故有此问。
可能男人的精神年龄比较低，在女人看来总想长不大的孩子。
最爽莫过在北理的日子。

翘着二郎腿，一手摸脚，一手捧书，
穿越黄金屋，痴看颜如玉。

想建议另一个翻法
Flower有个不常用的意思，类似“精华”。所以And my own true love was the flower of them all更好的翻法是“我的真爱，是他们中最优秀的”
就是说她十六岁了。
不知道做歌者心里到底是怎么想的?
只能是从字面上来理解是2x12.
可能也有您说的这个意思.
觉得描写男性的英俊,非常美.
