1. Format whole hard disk (C, D or whatever you have)
2. Clean install Windows 2000 (illegal copy is fine). For sake of security, don't connect to any network at this moment. Choose NTFS file format instead of FAT32
3. Install anti-virus software (must be a good one).
4. Apply the latest Windows patches and updates, such as Windows 2000 SP2, IE hot fixes and so on (you may need internet at this step)
5. Create a image for your hard driver if you can(You can easily restore Windows back later on if anything goes wrong)
6. Create another account with lower privilege and use this account for your daily operation. Use Admin account only for driver update, new software installation and so on.
7. Visit www.cchere.com at least 2 hours a day. That will keep your machine in great shape no matter what!
