For the CO2 quotation, it is not that simple. Even if western countries force China to accept CO2 quotation as a kind of "currency", there is still pricing issue. Since they do not produce much, and China produce everything, China can (and will) charge higher "price" for the manufactured products, no matter the price is in the format of gold or CO2 quotation.
