is a shaky source to delineate a correct picture of US auto industry.

First, their auto data encompass everything that has to do with motor, including but not limited to second-hand cars, RV\'s, boats, repairs, aftermarket parts, you name it.

Second, here is an excerpt from US Census Bureau\'s web site:

A stratified random sampling method is used to select approximately 5,000 retail and food services firms whose sales are then weighted and benchmarked to represent the complete universe of over three million retail and food services firms.

As far as i can understand it, it includes the auto sales from foreign automakers as well, and thus is not meant to be engaged as a gauge of US auto industry.

I have been eyeballing GM and Ford for a while. When their stock prices may gyrate up and down, their sale numbers are gradually shrinking, not to mention the invariable complaints on quality.
