Nothing wrong with 民主自由平等博爱. The problem is that it violates China's national interests (e.g., that British drug criminal). Thus, it is natural for Chinese to respect their own interests first.

Chinese should practise more 民主自由平等博爱 for their compatriots, not to foreigners. That's the logic of Roman empire and American empire too.
