家园 Angry against West:: Young

The protest was not far away with all the shouts, clashes, and tears, and still there is doubt and anger unfading, hanging over the hearts of Chinese young people. They were not understood either by the older generation of their own country nor by people of the west. The background and environment within which they were brought up serve as perfect examples of modern day absurdity as a result of public media.

In their very early childhood foreign made cartoon series-------mostly from Japan and U.S. began to appear over the screen of tens of millions of Chinese families at almost the same pace as they were shown in the west audience. The importing of western cartoons, together with books and toys, made great contribution in eternally modeling the mind set of this generation of kids in China. In every aspects they were like kids of the west, they laughed at the same joke, sung the same jelly-go-Kelly song, and had similar infatuations when daydreaming, and that was the beginning of whole tragedy. They were just too young to realize the funny and hilarious cartoons were just not for them, that they were considered to be live in a different world---the reality was just so cruel to any child who just wanted to become the superhero in the wonderful world of imagination.

The clash arrived to them when the 2008 Olympics were held and the whole array of protests and backlashes were just began. To the young generation of China who were then in their late teens and early adulthood, things were just crazy to them: for the first time they knew that their country and was everything included were hated so much by some of the western people. This very form of hatred and hostility is definitely not just against the regime, yet the whole people included----the number of people who could distinguish their enmity against the government from that of the people is ---in most accurate calculation, next to none.

So, having been ridiculed by the media and Deng’s saying “ the theme of the world is peace and development”, the “angry youth” of China arose on the stage. Unlike their precedents, who already accepted the image and condition of China in the West, the new generation was just outraged by the fact they saw and made a good self-education out of it. Instead of kneeling down and begging for crumbs, with the mindset of cartoon superhero, they view other people of the planet as equals and therefore demand equal respect and treatment. When seriously frustrated by reality, it was without much surprise that they become strong antagonists of west supremacy and cultural Imperialism.
