He is a Chinese from Malaysia.
He went to British for study. His classmate asked: "where are you from?"
He answered: "Malaysia".
"Oh, you are Malay!", his classmate.
"No, no. I am not a Malay. I am a Chinese." He said.
"I see. You are from China", his classmate said.
"No, no. I am from Malaysia", he said.
"Then, you are Malay!", his classmate said, and was puzzled.
