这样绝对不会有歧义，而且符合倒装的一般规则。当然现代英语好多严格的语法规则都不讲究了。

这句要读懂其中的隐喻，curtain-raiser 是帷幕，我觉得这里可以处理为遮羞布，in store是储存（到货的那个现代意思是派生的）。整句讲的就是

正如遮羞布遮挡住了储藏室里的东西一般，没有（使）任何人犯下如下的那种错误，即将大屠杀视作行动中的政府军所犯下的错误。（这个let不好处理，如果为了语句意思通畅，似乎也可以把那个无主语的使动let换成主动结构的译文。）
