The Qoros 3 sedan hasbecome the first Chinese-developed car to score a maximum five-star safetyrating by Euro NCAP, with results that make it 2013′s best performer to date.

The compact C-segmentmodel achieved an overall score of 88 per cent, scoring 95 per cent for adultoccupant protection, 87 per cent for child occupants, 77 per cent forpedestrians and 81 per cent for safety assist systems.

Unveiled at thisyear’s Geneva motor show, the Qoros 3 sedan is powered by a 1.6-litrefour-cylinder petrol engine, offered as a 93kW/155Nm naturally aspirated unitor with 115kW and 210Nm thanks to the addition of a turbocharger. Both enginesare teamed with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, with a six-speeddual-clutch automatic transmission optional.

E6 can last over 300KMs percharge while nissan leaf is just 170kms at most. This is not considering E6 isheavier and larger than a nissan leaf. If lucky, maybe we can see BYD inAustralia within 3 years. At that time, we will see a real, affordable electriccar not a short distance electric car like NISSAN or an expensive car likeTesla.

Shouldbe interesting to see what happens in the future. They have the money to throwaround and pick up some companies (e.g. SAAB) and use their engineering skills.Hire some good European designers and your on your way.
But yeahI would say India is next. Especially considering Tata's ownership of Jaguarand Land Rover.

Inaround 2030 I predict China's top tier cars will sit somewhere between Japan'sLexus and South Korea's Hyundai.

Aero:This is the Proton Prevé's Chinese cousin !Both have similar turbo engines, both 5-star safety rated, both good value formoney, but unfortunately, it will take them several years if not decades togain the trust of the consumers (especially in the developed markets). Hyundaimade their first 'good' car in 2004, the Getz hatch, but even today, theyhaven't managed to reach the consumer confidence levels of the Japanese, letalone the Germans. Time will tell.
