as I said in my previous post, Zhu stablized the central gov. fiscal situation, and the banking system. Indirectly it ensured central gov's control of the whole country.

Look at what happened to Argentina and Russia--fiscal bankruptcy, currency fluctuation and domestic violence with lost 10 years. You will see how important it is to have a stable central fiscal income statement. If China developed along its 1992-1993's route, MANY MORE CHINESE WILL 家破人亡

Currently, central gov gets 54% of total tax rev and the remaining goes to provinces. That's AFTER Zhu's great efforts of fiscal reform in 1994, much lower than US's 74%.

Zhu fought against various establishments and put up a modern macro-economic framework in China. After him, China has stable central treasury, a central bank with monetary authority, more-or-less profit-oriented banking industry, audit industry, a growing stock market, stablized fixed USD-RMB peg and a booming export sector.

Most importantly, China was firmly locked into WTO and there is no way to reverse the capitalistic revolution.
