主题：【原创】德州及新墨西哥之西行漫记——行程篇 -- 百合桔子

08年大大小小的出游了6次。4月去了波多黎哥（Puerto Rico）7日游；5月去了内华达（Las Vegas）、加州的Death Valley NP和南犹他的Zion NP和Bryce NP；7月去了Washington D.C.看国庆焰火然后去了弗吉尼亚的Shenanadch NP；8月又重返Vegas（因为免费机票：），当然其实是用我的mileage换的），从那里出发去了Grand Circle北边一圈包括Zion NP、Arches NP、Canyonlands NP、Natural Bridge National Monument、Monument Valley、Antelope Canyon和The Wave，最后回Vegas享受一下Venetian，确定了一下近年之内Vegas我是不想再涉足了；11月感恩节溜达着去了趟New Orleans。

之后，我对同事说：That's it. Can't take more trips this year. Too tired！结果话音没落，就碰到Bluesnow同学在网上问我，12月份去Big Bend NP如何，然后偶就又心动了。原因无他，总觉得Big Bend的位置很特别，这是个非是得去了德州还得开车漫长西行才能到达的一个国家公园（当然你也可以从新墨西哥方向下去）。几年前我在某本NP介绍上看到过，Big Bend排在美国NP的前20位之中，所以虽然Big Bend不是我出游priority list的Top 3，但机会难得有德州的朋友相邀，我还是很想能去那里一游的。所以我最终还是没能抗拒诱惑，12月完成了08年的第六个出游。

先贴我计划的行程，标出了每个地方的highlights，最能给大家参考意义的。因为去的是冬天，所以Big Bend有水的部分没去，基本上Big Bend NP玩的比较彻底3天足以，如果你夏天去可以多加一天玩漂流之类的水上运动。：）

Guadalupe Mountains NP秋天去应该是最好的季节，这个NP我认为比较适合backpackers，有些trail藏在深处，需要hiking进去camping在其中，所以我们只能算浅尝辄止，点到为止的感觉就是这个NP不是非常有吸引力，呵呵。

Carlsbad Caverns NP是个溶洞性质的NP，我觉得还是蛮impressive的。有些象桂林溶洞的感觉，但桂林的溶洞是地上的，这个溶洞是地下的。溶洞范围非常大，可以自己走两个Guided-tours，但如果喜爱溶洞探险真正应该加1天时间参加里面的Guided Tour。我最想去的两个：Left Hand Tunnel ($7)、Lower Cave Tour ($20)，一个没订到：（，紧俏啊～。最后去了一个最最不想去的（呵呵，因为同行的朋友都想去），幸好去的那天是圣诞节期间，所以我们的Tour成了Lantern tour，大家都提着灯笼游，还算是有特色吧。

我很郁闷，去White Sand的时候因为下雪，所以进去没多久之后的路段就被封了，最终没去成我一心想去拍白沙靓照的Alkali Flat Trail。White Sand National Monument有趣么？或许没趣，不过那里的白沙确实很特别，我就完全是冲着看过的众多绝美摄影作品去的，不过我就没拍成什么了，只是拍了白雪覆盖的白沙和上面的自己。

Corpus Christi ——偶又回到了德州东部。去过许多海水很美的地方，我对海滨城市其实不是特别感兴趣，不过有时候出门的乐趣也在于和朋友相处，我们的小旅馆和海滩遥遥相望，踩踩海滩，吃吃海鲜，也算是小作休憩吧。

行：

Day 1: Fly to San Antonio; Drive to Fort Stockton, TX

Day 2: Big Bend NP：North and East side

a. Persimmon Gap Area: trailhead to dog canyon and devil's den; the fossil bone exhibit area; hoodoos located along the Tornillo Flat

b. Chisos Basin Area:

· Dougout wells (on the way)

· Rio Grande Village Nature Trail (3/4-mile round trip)

· Boquillas Canyon Trail (1.4-mile roundtrip)

· Hot springs (1-mile loop trail)

· Ernst tinaja (1.4-mile；south end of Old Ore road, rough, unpaved road – go there only if you drive a SUV)

Day 3: Big Bend NP: Castolon Area (South)

a. Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive (stool vista; burro mesa pour off; mule ears; tuff canyon)

b. Upper Burro Mesa Pour-off Trail (3.6-mile)

c. Senta Elena Canyon (1.7-mile)

d. The Chimneys Trail (4.8-mile round trip, relative easy, volcanic dike formations and Indian rock art)

Day 4: Big Bend NP: Panther Junction/Chisos Mountains area

a. Grapevine Hill Trail (2.2-mile roundtrip, close look at the desert environment, one of the most picturesque spots in Big Bend NP; the Grapevine hills road is also unpaved, but it's of if you drive a sedan. You just need to be careful.)

b. The Window Trail (5-mile)/The Window View Trail (.3-mile)

c. The Lost Mine Trail (4.8-mile)

Day 5: Guadalupe Mountains NP

a. Smith Spring Trail (2.3-mile round trip)

b. McKittrick Canyon Trail to Pratt Cabin (4.8-mile round trip)

Day 6: Carlsbad Caverns NP

a. Natural Entrance self-guided tour (1.25-mile)

b. Big Room self-guided tour (1-mile; around 1.5-hr)

c. Guided tours (need reservations; plan in advance!)

Day 7: White Sand National Monument

a. Dune Life Nature Trail

b. Interdune Boardwalk

c. Alkali Flat Trail (Most of the beautiful pictures about White Sand were taken here!)

Day 8: Corpus Christi

a. Beach! Beach! Beach! What else? Seafood, of course.

Day 9: Fly back home from San Antonio

吃※住：

别的地方都没什么特殊，Big Bend里有一个lodge，能订到那里最好，这样每天从那里出发，可以在公园里发散性的玩。不过我们是11月底才决定的出游，所以又被订满了。所以订满的情况下…可以住：Chisos Mining Company Motel (Hwy 170, mi west of Hwy 118, Terlingua, TX; (432)371-2254)。这是个网上照片看上去很shabby的但实际蛮nice的小旅馆，真的挺nice。Terlingua真是个荒凉的小镇，快餐啥的就别想了，基本上那里就是墨西哥餐，我们是早上、晚上都在一个小餐馆解决问题，中午的午餐也是小餐馆的外卖，直接墨西哥餐吃到大家都不想再提。：）至于荒芜吗，晚上看到狼、听到狼叫那是正常的，有天早晨还有头狼来车边打转……你可以理解多荒芜了。
