家园 Re:基金与国储赌局 I seriously doubt the claim the 刘其兵 first went long 200K copper and then went short 200K. That doesn't sound right. I bet his previous long position is much smaller than his short position. So he probably lose all the profits he made during his whole caree and plus some more.
It's a crime for 国储局 to engage this kind of speculation trying to manipulate the price. It's such a joke that some people want to paint a gamble driven by greed into a patriotic warfare.

Just that simple. 国储's trader has been in this business for 10 years so he probably was good as the mortality in this business is extremely high. He must have made a lot of money before. But this time he let his ego overtaken him. He's dead. I am shocked the 国储 engaged in this kind of pure speculation. It should be strictly hedging on cash basis. Well obviously nobody learns from the lesson of 中航油. Another lesson with a price tag of 20-200 millions.
The conspiracy theory is laughable. The market is much bigger than individuals. The fact is the resource sectors have been under-loved, under-invested for so long(20-30 years), it takes a long time(15 years) and a hugh price movements to get things rebalanced again.
Look at copper, another new high today!
